The Burren Adventures Dive Centre is a PADI 5 star Dive Centre, located in Ballyvaughan, Co Clare.

As the Summer season is over, the shop is now closed, but diving continues as normal. Contact us for more details.

Burren Adventures was set up by Ronan Sweeney and Denise Sweeney in 2005, fulfilling a long term dream, when they realised that there was a real lack of diving facilities available in the area.

We are a PADI 5 star dive centre and member of the PADI International Resort and Retailer Association.

Starting from a mobile base, in 2006 they opened the shop and training centre in Ballyvaughan and have gone from strength to strength.

Ronan Sweeney is a PADI Master Instructor, CMAS M2, TDI Instructor and HSE Part 4, 3 & 1 Commercial diver. He started diving in 1991 and has dived extensively throughout Ireland and the world. In 1994 he taught diving in Australia, around Sydney and on the Southern and Northern parts of the Great barrier reef. In addition to diving, Ronan also swims, cycles, has done the occasional triathlon and does a bit of kayaking and surfing from time to time.

Denise Sweeney also started diving in 1991. She is a PADI MSDT Instructor, CMAS M2 and TDI instructor. Together with Ronan she taught diving in Australia in 1994 and has been involved as an instructor in Irish diving since 1995.
